Candy-Flavored Kisses Ch1

Haruhi stared down the cobblestone pathway to the house she was supposed to be going to. She gasped when the person she was going to see opened the door and walked toward her. "Senpai! How'd you know I was here?" She stuttered.
"I didn't; I came out to walk Antoinette. What ARE you doing here?" He was shocked to see her standing there, and tried to suppress a blush that threatened to tint his whole face red.
"Ummmmmmm, I just-" She blushed and looked down, and couldn't finish her sentence. She ran from the yard with a huge blush on her face, and kept sprinting until she was out of his view.  'How could I do that? How could I think I could confess to him? To him, I'm just his daughter.' She walked the rest of the way home, and called Mei's cell phone.
"Hello?" Mei wondered who was calling her at dinnertime. "MEI! Can you come over tonight? I want to talk to you! Dad said you could sleep over. Miss Kanako's coming as well."
"Erm…Kanako knows?" Mei replied warily. "Yea actually, not really sure about how, but I think it was Tamaki's fault…..anyway is six okay?" "Okay, I'll be there." They both hung up. Haruhi's dad came into the room and started to get ready for work.
"So, I'll be gone until seven o clock tomorrow morning, will you guys be okay here?" he said. Haruhi nodded and smiled at him. "Alright then, good night!" He kissed her on the head and walked out the door. Haruhi went over to the snacks in the cabinet and started to set them up. 'This night should be interesting…..' She put the snacks and drinks all on the table and went around the house checking over everything; that way she didn't have to think about the day's events.
Mei ran up the stairs to Haruhi's door and knocked enthusiastically.  She opened the door and beckoned Mei to come in. "HI!!" Mei yelled and ran inside the house.  Haruhi laughed and said "Hi" back. Kanako walked up the stairs and walked into the still-open door. "Oh hello Kanako! Put your stuff wherever!" Haruhi yelled whilst being glomped by Mei.  "Hi Haruhi! And okay!" Kanako yelled as Mei let Haruhi move again. Then she let her duffel bag fall to the floor with a plop.
"It's party time!" Mei yelled. "Woo-Hoo! Yeah! " Kanako responded even louder. Haruhi laughed and shook her head as she closed the door. Then she sat down on the floor.  
"So… What happened today? " Mei and Kanako asked simultaneously. "Erm…nothing?" Haruhi blushed and looked down with a slightly sad look on her face. "It doesn't LOOK like nothing, Ha-ru-hi~. What happened between you and Suoh?" Kanako asked tauntingly. She was one of the few at school that knew Haruhi was a girl. Judging by the look on Haruhi's face, Kanako was right on the money.
"Oh, come on Haru-hiiii~! Tell us!" Mei said. "… fine." Haruhi said.  She told them about the day's events at Tamaki's house and they laughed. "Why are you laughing?" Haruhi whined, but then she began to laugh as well. Then, Haruhi hit Mei over the head with a pillow, and Mei hit her back. The sleepover had officially begun.  
Back at Tamaki's house, he was worrying out loud: "Antoinette, do you know why Haruhi ran today? What did I do wrong?" He started pacing around the room and running his hand through his hair trying to think.  
After their pillow fight was over, the three girls sat around the table and were laughing and joking around whilst stuffing their face with snacks; nothing really good happened until it got dark. Once night fell, they weren't a little bit tired, so they started to tell scary stories. "Once, there was this kid," Kanako started. "He was about our age; he was seventeen. He was a stereotypical teenager; he went to Ouran academy though.  He was walking through the third floor and all of a sudden, he was CAPTURED! He went missing for three days, and when he reappeared, he was a totally different person; he was all into pink bunnies, and couldn't stop eating cake!" Haruhi was perched nervously on the balls of her feet, but now she stated to laugh. Kanako continued over Haruhi: "that's the REAL reason I broke up with Chika!" She nodded and succumbed to the laughter as well. Mei was giggling now, too.
Mei then began her scary story. "Once, I was walking down the street to get to the fabric store. All of a sudden, a HUGE ghost-thing flew down on top of me. I couldn't tell what it was, and then it disappeared! I STILL don't know what that thing was!" Haruhi looked at Mei's face with huge eyes. Mei pushed her bangs out of her face. "I'm sure it was nothing to worry about though, ne?" she smiled.  Kanako nodded. "Probably not, but you never know." She smirked and Haruhi was more than a little scared. "I'll be right back, okay guys? Haruhi, where's the bathroom?" Haruhi pointed it out to her, and Kanako grabbed her purse and walked in. She pulled out her cell phone and dialed a number she'd never called before.
Tamaki needed to know what was going on and was trying to figure out what to do when he got a phone call. "H-hello? Tamaki here. Who is this?" he answered, because he didn't know the person calling, they weren't in his contacts.  "It's Kanako; I'm at Haruhi's. Get over as soon as possible. Kay? "Uh…okay Kasugazaki, sure." They hung up, and Tamaki ran into his closet to put on actual pants, instead of pajamas. Kanako skipped back into the room to see Haruhi even more wound up than before.
"You okay, Haruhi?" Mei asked, concerned. Haruhi slowly nodded and Kanako started another story.  "One day, I was eating a banana. All of a sudden it turned into an onigiri!" Haruhi stared at her. "Really? Even that's a little scary." Kanako nodded "Yup, and it was!" All of a sudden there was a sound from the door.
Tamaki ran out of his house without any of his servants or drivers noticing; he still didn't know how he'd managed it.  He kept running to Haruhi's house, although he didn't really know why.  Kanako wasn't always the best friend, but he ran anyway. He took the steps three at a time, and fell into the door, panting.  After a few seconds, he opened the door and walked into the house.
Haruhi stared at Tamaki standing in her doorway at eleven o'clock at night, and her heart was pounding. She wasn't sure if it was from the scary stories, or the fact that the boy she liked was right in front of her after she made a complete idiot of herself that day.  Mei covered her mouth with her hand and turned to look at Haruhi.  Kanako giggled a little, and then burst out laughing at Haruhi's face.
"Uh…..you're probably wondering why I'm here, huh?" Tamaki said. "Well… Kanako called me about ten minutes ago, and told me to come here." Mei turned to look at Kanako, and they hi-fived.  Haruhi was still frozen with her mouth open a little bit and her heart pounding like mad. "Erm…can we talk?" Haruhi finally said. Tamaki nodded and she stood up and walked into a different room. Tamaki followed suit.  "Oooooo!" Mei and Kanako said together as soon as the others were gone. "I wonder what they're going to say." Mei wondered aloud. Kanako nodded in agreement.
